Data Points Management in Account Settings
Managing data points effectively ensures data integrity and optimal use of participant information within Engage Engine. The Data Points section in Account Settings provides a structured interface to oversee, organize, and modify data points.
Data Point Actions
Each data point includes various management options accessible via the three-dot menu next to it. These actions should be performed with caution, as most are irreversible.
Move to Another Category
This option allows you to reassign a data point to a different category. It helps maintain better organization within your data structure.
Merge Data Points
Merging data points combines participant labels, ensuring data is consolidated for more accurate analytics. When merging, a prompt will ask:
Do you want to override existing values in cases where participants have both labels assigned?
Override: Existing values will be replaced with the new merged data.
Don’t Override: Existing values will remain unchanged, and only missing values will be added.
Reset Participants
This action removes all participants linked to the data point, effectively clearing historical records. Use this carefully, as it cannot be undone.
Delete Data Points
Deleting a data point permanently removes the label and all associated participant data. This action is irreversible, and once deleted, the information cannot be recovered.
Important Considerations
These actions affect participant data directly and cannot be undone.
Before merging or deleting data points, ensure no essential data will be lost.
Always verify changes before executing irreversible actions.
By following these management practices, Engage Engine users can maintain structured and efficient data organization while safeguarding participant records.
