Data Security and Compliance in Engage Engine

As Engage Engine users, we expect you to be committed to upholding the highest standards of data security and regulatory compliance. Ensuring user privacy and maintaining trust are core principles that guide your approach to data collection and management.

Understanding the Regulatory Framework

Data privacy regulations vary across regions, and Engage Engine proactively adheres to key legal requirements, including:

  • United States: While no single federal law governs data privacy, we comply with state-specific regulations such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA & CPRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and Colorado Privacy Act (ColoPA) for residents in those states.

  • Europe: We fully align with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to protect the personal data of users within the European Economic Area (EEA).

User Rights and Data Transparency

Privacy regulations grant users greater control over their personal information. Engage Engine ensures compliance by incorporating these rights into our data management practices:

  • Right to Access: Users can request to see what personal data has been collected. This request is handled by the client.

  • Right to Deletion: Individuals can request the removal of their personal information from our systems. The client has the ability to delete a single user from the Participants User's profile.

Bulk Deletion: If bulk deletion of user data is required, the client should contact Engage Engine support for assistance.

  • Right to Data Portability: Users can obtain a copy of their personal data in a structured format. This is managed by the client.

  • Right to Opt-Out: Users can opt out of data collection and targeted advertising practices where applicable, with opt-out mechanisms controlled by the client.

User Consent in Activation Engine

In Activation Engine, you can add a user consent data point to capture user agreement with Terms & Conditions (T&C). This ensures compliance and transparency when collecting user data.

Secure Data Handling Practices

Engage Engine employs robust security measures to protect all collected data. Our safeguards include:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest to prevent unauthorized access.

  • Access Controls: Only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information.

  • Regular Audits: We conduct routine security audits and compliance checks to ensure ongoing protection.

  • Anonymization Techniques: When applicable, we anonymize or pseudonymize data to minimize risk.

Commitment to Ongoing Compliance

As data privacy laws evolve, Engage Engine continuously updates its policies and security practices to remain compliant. We actively monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to protect user data.

By prioritizing privacy, security, and transparency, Engage Engine ensures a trusted environment where businesses can engage their audiences responsibly while safeguarding user information.
