Static Links

The Static Links feature allows you to generate a fixed, reusable link for an activation, ensuring consistency across various campaigns and channels. Unlike regular shareable links that might change with updates, static links remain unchanged, making them ideal for long-term promotions, QR codes, and website embeds.

Before you start, please keep in mind:

  • Once you delete a static link, the URL will lead to a blank page.

  • Test your static links to make sure it’s running smoothly before publishing, to avoid user experience issues.

  1. Navigate to the Static Links Section: Found under General Settings in the Engage Engine platform.

  2. Click "+Create": Start a new static link entry.

  3. Configure Static Link Details:

    • Name: Assign an internal name for easy reference.

    • Campaigns: Select the campaign associated with the activation.

    • Activations: Choose the specific activation linked to this static link.

    • Shareable Link: Select an existing shareable link that will be tied to this static link. The shareable link must already be created in the Publish Activation section before it can be used here.

  4. Generate & Save: The static link is created and ready for use.

Once the link is ready, you can use the tools next to the created link to:

  • Scan the QR to Preview on mobile or Download it in various sizes for different purposes:

    • Small (300 x 300): ideal for Mobile and web.

    • Medium (1920 x 1080: ideal for TVs and large screens.

    • Large (3840 x 2160): ideal for Jumbotron in Arena

  • Copy the link

Once created, static links appear in a table with the following details:

  • Name: The internal identifier for the link.

  • Connected Link: The associated campaign and activation name.

  • Static Link: The fixed URL generated for use.

  • Actions Menu: Clicking the three-dot menu next to each static link provides additional management options:

    • Replace Shareable Link: Update the linked activation while keeping the same static URL. This ensures users always reach the latest version of the activation without changing the link.

    • Go to Activation: Directly navigate to the connected activation to view or modify its settings.

    • Delete: Remove the static link from the list. Note: Deleting a static link does not delete the activation but will remove the fixed URL reference.

  • For consistent promotion: Use the same URL across different marketing campaigns.

  • In printed materials or QR codes: Ensures that the link remains valid over time.

  • For external embeds: Websites, social media bios, or email footers can use a permanent link without requiring frequent updates.

By using static links, you gain greater flexibility and control over your activation URLs while ensuring seamless user access.
